Post- Graduate Engineer ( Electrical )
Education required- Candidate should be a B.E/B.Tech specializing in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics/ Power Engg./ Power Systems & High Voltage/ Power Electronics and Electrical/ Instrumentation & Control and should have at least 65% marks in aggregate
Post- Graduate Engineer ( Mechanical )
Education required- Candidate should be B.E/B.Tech specializing in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engg./ Production & Industrial Engg./ Thermal / Mechanical & Automation / Power
Engineering and should have at least 65% marks in aggregate
Post- Graduate Engineer (Civil / Construction )
Education required- Candidate should be B.E/B.Tech specializing in Civil / Construction and should have at least 65% marks in their engineering degree
Post- Graduate Engineer (Instrumentation Engineering )
Education required- Candidate should be B.E/B.Tech specializing in Electronics & Instrumentation / Instrumentation & Control and should have at least 65% marks in their engineering degree
Post- Graduate Engineer ( Electronics )
Education required- Candidate should be B.E/B.Tech specializing in Electronics / Electronics & Telecommunication / Electronics & Power/ Power Electronics/ Electronics & Communication/
Electrical & Electronics and should have at least 65% marks in their engineering degree
Post- Graduate Engineer ( Computer Science and Information Technology )
Education required- Candidate should be B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science Engg. / Information Technology and should have at least 65% marks in their engineering degree

How to Apply for NTPC
Mode of Application:- Online
Application Fee:- Candidates from General and OBC (Non Creamy Layer) category need to pay an application fee of Rs.150/- (candidates of other categories are exempted from fee).
For paying this application fee, candidate need to approach any SBI bank branch with a printout of the “pay-in-slip” (available after registering online). The Bank is authorized to collect the Application fee.
Service Bond Declaration:- Candidates belonging to General and OBC categories will be required to serve a service bond of Rs. 2,50,000/- or minimum 3years of service after completion of their training.
For candidates of SC, ST and PWD class the bond amount is Rs. 1,25,000/- only.
Process of Application:-
The candidates have to apply through GATE 2016 registration number.
Candidates need to apply online for NTPC ET-2016 through the official website from 05.01.2016 to 29.01.2016.
Shortlisted candidate for Group Discussion and Personal Interview, have to bring original GATE 2016 score card at the time of Interview.
